www.pgatour.com/tournaments/us-open/field.htmlI am personally not a fan of Shine-a-cock Hills for the U.S. Open because it just doesn't have that traditional U.S. feel IMO because it is too boring and linksy for my liking. Just an open pasture of nothingness. Feel free to disagree but nothing inspires me about that course. We have two Open championships again this year. My starting lineup (the last two players look like a Josh lineup) Jordan Spieth Tommy Fleetwood Brendan Steele Alexander Levy Thorbjorn Olsesen Alternate: Brandt Snedeker Bench Peter Uihlein Patrick Rodgers Trey Mullinax - for some reason I think I may be using a sub on him Speaking of Josh I want to give a shout out for his favorite Women's tennis player Simona Halep for a much deserved first major championship in winning the French Open tennis tournament. Cahill has been a godsend for her. I am sure Josh is in a good mood because of her.

LOL And, I think I know the TWO reasons Josh became a fan of halep.  I'm with Eric on this course. The British is by far my least favorite of all the majors. The eye appeal of the courses have always been a factor with that. |

Well...thanks for the shout out. Actually, I told Eric and his brother the story when we drafted...I have a close friend in Romania...helped me a lot during the time my marriage fell apart and I was missing my kids badly...pre divorce...step-father was dying, etc.
Anyway...Halep is from same city in Romania and went to same school as her...was a year ahead of her. Thus, I have always pulled for her,since she always reminds me of my dear friend. Simona also is a pretty classy human being herself...makes it easy to cheer for her.😏

The eye appeal of the courses have always been a factor with that. and actually I have come to accept the British a little more. That is their type of golf and that is fine. Of course having Spieth win over there didn't hurt my feeling of the Open. I just don't like it when the US Open wants to pick these links course so often lately. You don't see Scotland building any replica's of The Stadium Course at Sawgrass. The US Open has this thing for certain courses. It is time to break the mold. I want a US Open in Colorado or Utah and make it a leg burner where these guys are practically climbing mountains to get to their next shot. How about a 100 foot drop over a pond to a flag 10 feet off a green that has a false front into the front pond. |
