Eric,
What's the ruling? Some people won't be even teed off until tomorrow morning for their 2nd round. Are subs due today still like the rule states?
Let us know.
Thanks!

Round 3 Tee times are not even up yet as of now. The rule is and always has been that all subs are due by the first tee time the day after the cut down day is supposed to happen. I know it sucks but it sucks equally for all. Round 2 tee times are setup for 6:00AM Central but the site does not say if those tee times are Friday's or Saturday's tee times. So I would suggest to all the subs be submitted before you go to bed tonight.
The spirit of this rule is to have the timeframe that subs are due to be an over night thing so it's fair to all. This tourney is a perfect example of the logistical problem of having subs be due after the cut when the cut may happen just minutes before the third round starts. I don't want to punish those that can't be around their computer during that small time frame that would exist between rounds.
Unless something shows differently the deadline for subs is 6AM Central tomorrow morning which as far as I know is the first tee time of the day which is the resumption of the second round.

Just a little more as far as why the rule is setup as it is and why I personally like it. I like to give advantages to teams that follow their teams closely and are active. That is why I like the 3 sub rule. That philosophy only goes so far. Lets say we have the rule as that subs are simply due before the first tee time of the round after the cut happens. If team A is able to sit at home on a Saturday afternoon and watch closely on TV or on their computer they would have a big advantage being able to wait until the last minute to make their choice of who they want to sub during a very small timeframe of time likely early on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile team B, C, D, E and F are all out with Charlie and Betty enjoying a Saturday lunch on the beach on Lake Muddy Acid Waters. Those teams are not by their computer and not able to wait as long as possible to see how the tourney develops between 6AM and noon. Team A that is the golf nerd (like me sometimes) has a big advantage that the other teams don't have. I think that is more of an injustice than it is to give everyone ample time over night to decide who their subs will be. I know some players haven't teed off yet for their second round but that is just how the cookie crumbles. Sometimes it crumbles for Sub Seventy, sometime it crumbles for Enough Pars but rarely does it crumble for Team Win or Die, but really just team Die because all my golfers are dead to me. Sometimes fantasy golf is not fair and sometimes real golf is not fair. How many times does Sonny Jorgenson have to to tee off in a 30MPH win in the afternoon where Barny Torgelson got the advantage of a 5 MPH breeze with his 6:14 AM tee time.

I am going to sub in Keegan Bradley - who may not make the cut
I am going to sub out Soren Kjeldsen - who almost certainly won't make it
By the way subs can be submitted as early as you want and can be changed until the last minute if desired without penalty or extra cost. Just not after the deadline.

Kokrak in, Glover out.
And I guess I should put Leishman in (+1 after one round) and Na out (+4 after two rounds). That sub would mean I think Leish will fire less than +3, tomorrow.
So put Leish in, take Na out, even tho Na canned a 25 ft birdie putt to get to +4. But Na has to wake up and play 17 and 18 tomorrow, two very tough holes.
What sux is, Kaymer and/or Kuch/and/or Lowry could suck ass tomorrow in their second round tomorrow, and I won't be able to sub in Cabrera, the winner of the last US Open at Oakmont, and will make the cut.
In review:
Kokrak in, Glover out. Leishman in, Na out.
Have a nice weekend.

This stinks. I know the rule is there and why but its almost impossible to know what to do when there is a ton of golf to be played before making a decision. And now i have a guy at top of leaderboard on the bench.

Well it's kind of like some golf rules imo, they may not seem fair but they're there to keep order in the game,I too have had times where this rule has affected me including this tourney but even though I've only been here half a year I know what the rule is.Nobody should be bitching, everybody here should know the rule and respect it for what it is,if you don't like it then bring it up next year before the draft.jmho

I know the rule. But when you have to make a decision when some players have finished a roumd and some still have basically a whole roumd to go thats just as unfair as not being able to pay attention.
Not syaing it needs to change this week. Maybe its something to consider in Tier 1 events vs all events?

We are definitely going to have to discuss this rule some more going forward. I am open to anything as long as we can have a long overnight period for subs to be due. Maybe we can discuss having a formula to go by going forward. Maybe in the future we can have a rule that if 50% of the golfers do not finish their round prior to the cut (usually 2nd round) then the sub day automatically moves one day later (in most instances after Saturday but before first tee time Sunday). I do agree that this is a very messed up situation this week and this is becoming a trend this year.
Why don't we do this. Let's have some discussion about this. Everyone put in your input as far as how we can change this rule and feel free to make suggestions. We can put this thing up to a vote and if we get a 100% majority, which I think we will, than we can change the rule after this week.
