As of right now...for the 64-man field: Josh has twelve participants, Matt #1 has nine, Ryan has seven, Aaron has six...and each of the rest here have five guys. Only iffy possibility...If Molina ri plays....is this way...If he doesn't...Matt goes down to eight guys, and Eric would then have six, since Mike I linen would be next in line at #67 ranking...and would be quite a nice gift since he is an outstanding match play player.

sorry, cannot remember but for match play, if you have 12 in it, does each team get all its players or do we have to pick 5?

You have to pick a starting lineup just like every week. You will be allowed 1 sub after the initial pool play rounds.

This year it is a bit different. There will be 16 initial groups of four...Each playing three matches against the others in the group. This will be determined with a selection show on Monday. They have the Top 16 guys as top seeds of each group...but then they will draw/select players from the group 17-32, 33-48, and 49-64. So... it will be interesting. Then once we have the sixteen winners after group play...we then will have single elimination after that.

Aaron,
Have you figured out how you are gonna handle the scoring. If there are only 16 players that advance out of round robin play that is alot of players that would be tied for 17th place unless you take into consideration each golfers match play record. Such as a guy that finishes 1-2 in match play could be ranked tied for 34th where the 0-3 group could be ranked tied for 53rd. Something to consider.

It's too bad that Daniel Berger didn't make it. I would have liked to see how he would have faired in this format. He is having a good year and is high up on the leaderboard for this week as well. He is the 5th alternate but that won't be high enough to make the field. If Illonen makes it I have my doubts that he would win any matches. I guess I would almost have to start him and then trash him for sucking so bad. Maybe it will be a moot point and he will not make it.

Eric, I have been considering that and like the idea you presented. That appears to be the fairest way to handle it. |

That is actually not the official field. It is dated April 20th and has Luke Donald in the top 64 but he is definately not playing. I real Molinari twitter feed and it looks like he is playing in match play so Illonen is the odd man out. He wouldn't have done anything anyway.

Actually, Eric...I would be a bit disappointed if I were you. Just a few months ago, I linen won the Volvo World Match Play...beating a few highly ranked players and Ryder Cup team members along the way, including Stenson in the final. So...had I linen slipped in, that could have been a possible very nice diamond in the rough for you.

Phil Mickelson withdrew which is a bad break for Shari but that means that Illonen is now in the field. He now gets a change to prove his worthiness to my team.
