How about Troy Merritt's 61 today. Spieth is amazing to go from 86th to tied for 7th in one round. Should make for a very interesting and watchable weekend. Kuchar is doing his best to defend this week. Snedeker has a real nice round today to make the cut. Knox matched Snedeker's 64 to make the cut as well.
Look at this list of who shot 65 or better today
Merritt 61 Merrick 65 Furyk 64 Spieth 62 Streelman 65 Adams 65 Peterson 65 Molder 64 Knox 64 Harman 65 Snedeker 64
That is eating up the course

Spieth, Furyk and Sneds are names that could dupe those rounds over the weekend. Combine those names with Kuch, G-Mac, Oostey and Every... and some others poised to break thru (M. Hoffman, Kisner, Thomas), could indeed be a special weekend.

Jim Furyk finally broke his long winless drought and he sure had to earn it. He needed to birdie the first playoff hole just to stay alive and then gutted another putt for birdie to win it on the next playoff hole. I was just thinking during the last week or two that I doubted Furyk would ever win again but I guess that notion was not accurate. He is one of my favorite classic golfers and I was so happy when he won the U.S. Open the year he won it. As it turns out that is his only major and probably will remain that way but at least he has got one. Great career by Furyk even if he never wins again.

That must have been very satisfying for Mr. Furyk. He had a lot of tournaments slip past him where he didn't really play poorly at the end. He was just ouplayed. He had to play crazy good and keep it up in the playoff to win. He must have been thinking here we go again...
