Well...see the Experts Picks again... a lot of copycat predictions once more. Again...sure, Donald and Fury are decent picks. They have strong histories at the course, and have played well of late in this Florida swing, etc. It will not be a surprise to most if they contended. However, once again...Mix it up a little. You talk about it being a ball-striker's course....well Stetson and Scott are likely the two best at iron play...so why the first three or such don't even have EITHER... (Oh, and they are just the two highest ranked guys both Top 5 in the world)... is beyond me. Now nobody is guaranteed any high finish...but with four guys to pick...don't know how you don't have EITHER in your group. At least the later experts started to wise up...and even pick a couple different people. You know, Eric...you might have one of, if not the biggest steals of the season in Berger. There are a handful of nice rookies this year...Finau is almost there...Ortiz, Hadwin, Park, Pinkney....are all solid. Thomas and Berger though I don't count as rookies...they have earned "regular" status in my book, and could contend often. Actually from behind..A couple times I have been watching and thought Berger was Stenson...before I realized that Stenson wasn't playing in that particular tourney. I could see Berger doing well again this week. A couple sleeper types...just to pay attention to not just this week, but in general: Johnathan Byrd has been playing well, and looks to be most the way back. He just needs a tourney where he is right at the top to convince me he is all the way back...good to see him...always liked him. Another....last week I actually predicted the Puerto Rico winner as well...and I was spot on. In fact....had he not missed his three-foot par putt on the 18th, he would have won...Instead of falling into a five-man playoff, eventually won by Cjeka. That said he has been moving up steadily...now in Top 100...good young Argentinian...might be the one to take baton from Cabrera. Emilio Grillo...plays more on Euro tour...but a good young rising star. By the way...that Puerto Rico tourney....that course is not easy. It is another Trump course...beautiful scenery...but tough test. Here is a suggestion for the future...change it so a couple weeks from now... have Puerto Rico be after the four Florida tourneys...and have Valery Open be the alternate course/tourney during Doral. Thoughts?

How nice is the Puerto Rico tourney, is it on a nice course? I really know nothing about it but having that be in place of Valero sounds good to me. I don't really envision Texas as much of a golf state. I think them having 4 tourney's is way too many. Texas should be cut to 3 if not 2. The Colonial for sure and then either the Shell Houston Open or the Byron Nelson but maybe not both. Valero should be dropped all together. I would add a tourney in either Colorado or Utah to replace it. I would be for adding a tourney in the Appalachian Mountain region somewhere.
I was lucky enough to add Berger before his name got out too much. We will see if he can keep it together all season. He is looking good now but will he continue his good play. I sure hope so.

Eric...it is another Trump course...and seems to be a test. It is beautiful there...but there is wind and it seems to offer similar issues as Trump's main gem at Doral. To me...After the four Florida swing courses...Puerto Rico would be a good wrap up from there --- then go to Shell Houston...which has a lot of parallels to Augusta and wonderfully tough finishing hole like at Doral. Go to Augusta....then do the DFW duo of the Colonial and Byron Nelson...Two solid tourneys celebrating two of the all-time greats, steeped in tradition. Seems like a good flow to me. The Valero....I am sorry...San Antonio is one of the best things Texas has to offer...really one of the nicer big cities to visit in this whole country, in my opinion. But that course....it might be a TPC course in name...but it is the ugliest course on tour....even that swamp that the Zurich New Orleans Classic plays on is nicer. The Valero sucks donkey testicles. Having a regular tourney in Colorado or Washington would be cool as well...Cherry Hills regularly would be kickass. ADD those couple...get rid of Valero and Zurich...Two dumpy courses...better.

I don't really envision Texas as much of a golf state. Other than being home to Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Jackie Burke, Lee Trevino, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, and Jimmy Demaret. And LPGA stars Babe Didriksen and Kathy Whitworth. Other than those.... Texas pretty much inconsequential.

Didn't mean that to sound harsh, eric, but had to disagree that Texas wasn't much of a 'golf state'. It (Texas) may not play well on TV, but it is home to many of golf's greats, including arguably the greatest of all (Hogan) jmo.

I am not saying Texas doesn't produce good golfers I just don't think it's much of a destination state when it comes to golf. You hear people going to golf trips to South Carolina, Florida, California etc but not many people plan golfing trips to Texas. I don't think Texas has the landscape for golf. It is half desert and not the nice desert courses like in Arizona but the ugly tumbleweed courses that is the portion that Valero resides in. California is known for their nice oceanside courses and some desert golf. Florida is know for palm trees and water. Colorado and Utah known for their mountain courses with elevation changes. South Carolina know for their beach courses. Even places like Wisconsin, West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky have nice golf courses. Texas is just flat and boring. I do somewhat like the Colonial and Houston Open but in general I am not a fan of Texas Golf. I can totally understand if people disagree with that.

Lol...I agree...Boo looks like some Swamp Hermit. I am excited...This year the BMW at the end of the year has moved...is at Cherry Hills in Colorado...GREAT course. PGA is at Whistling Straits... U.S.Open in Washington State.... Canadian Open always good. At least we have some nice variety to balance out the Valero and Zurich weeks.

I agree that it is exciting for the PGA to be going back to Colorado. Good to have the Open Championship (and I know me calling it that is gonna get under the skin of like everyone from Europe) in Washington and the PGA at Whistling Straits. I also like the Canadian Open and it moving around as well. There was an old course in microsoft golf called Banff Springs. I wonder if the tourney is ever played there as that was always one of my favorite computer golf courses. I think it is in Alberta. I am not quite as down on the Zurich as you Josh eventhough it may not be the best tourney. I don't mind me some swamp golf. I actually like it better than the John Deere Classic on the Iowa Illinois border. They should move the John Deere classic to the best course in Wisconsin whatever that course should be considered. I know there are a few good ones in Wisconsin. Doesn't it seem like the John Deere Classic is always between Steve Stricker or Zach Johnson. They should rename it the Johnson/Stricker Invitational. They should only allow those two players in the tourney and just let them battle it out for the championship. Everyone else can go to an alternate event that week.
Boo and the Swamp Hermit comment is pretty funny. They can group him together with Tim Herron, William McGirt, Kevin Stadler and maybe Colin Montgomery.

Well...I am no fan of the John Deere...but at least the course isn't a dump. That would be quite the grouping. Whistling Straits likely is Wisconsin best course...
