We are off to New Orleans for a tier 3 event which is a newer format where the golfers are paired up in 2 man teams. I know we had some questions about how the scoring worked in this event last year and I will clarify that here so there is no confusion for this year. We have to only give points to the top 25 teams and ties which will equal 50 plus golfers. If we gave 2 golfers points for each slot then we would be scoring this event with the same value as a major and I know the Zurich effing Classic does not deserve that type of distinction nor in the rules does it have that extinction. For this event to be scored properly as a tier 3 event than the following is how it would be needed to be done. The top finishing team would take up scoring slots 1 and 2. Both golfers would share points for those two slots. There would be 295 points available for those two slots so each guy after rounding up would get 148 points. If we have a 5 way tie for 12th (which would actually be a total of 10 golfers) than what would happen is that scoring slots 24-33 would be added together and divided by 10 (which is the number of golfers in those 5 teams) and that amount rounded up would be the fantasy score for each of those 10 golfers in the 5 way tie for 12th. If there is only one team that finishes 7th than once again they would share the points for the 14th and 15th scoring slots divided by 2. Unfortunately if Poongjai Shim and Kumbai Sikanocovicanaki finish in the top slot both cannot get 175 points. Sorry guys.
My starters
Tony Finau
Kyle Stanley (yeah it is boom or bust since he plays with Finau)
Ollie Schniederjans (AKA Schitterjans)
Russell Henley
Sungjai Im
Alternate: Sam Burns
Bench
Carlos Ortiz
MacKenzie Hughes
Scott Stallings
Wyndham Clark
