My co-second favorite team has won the Stanley Cup and for all the years I have followed hockey my 2nd favorite team has never won the Cup. I followed the North Stars from 1982 thru about 1994 or whenever they left Minnesota. They were my absolute favorite team but when they left that pissed me off. I have never been able to like the Wild all that much and I moved on after the North Stars left. I am now an Avalanche fan first and was from the day they got to Colorado. I liked them before they won the Cup and they will always be my favorite team. I have grown to like the Caps more and more for about the last 20 years. They kept going up my desirability list and rose and rose every year as far as how muched I liked them and I was pained recently almost every year that they would under achieve in the playoffs and usually go down to Pittsburgh because they didn't have a winning mentality when it mattered most. Washington rose to my co second favorite team with the other National Capital team the Ottawa Senators. That was before this season even started. I feel really good for the fans of them because D.C. needed this. They are known too much for Politics and Government but the real people that live there have something to truly agree on and that is their team. Even though I love golf, hockey is my favorite sport and to see one of my favorite teams win the cup gives me a sense of pride and joy.

I’m totally with you on that one! The wild and capitals are my #1 favorite “co-teams” and Ovi definitely deserves this as well. When you are that good it’s only right to finally be rewarded as a team to go along with all of his individual awards.
