I was just kind of thinking of something that we may need to get decided now before next week. Since the tourney next week will only have 30 golfers what would we do if a golfer withdrew either prior to or during the tourney and was given a status such as "WD or DQ". Would that player still get points for finishing 30th or is that considered a golfer that doesn't get any points whatsoever because of withdrawing or being DQ'd. For me I don't think the golfer should get any points at all especially considering they would not have even finished the golf tourney unless they finished and then got DQ'd. I don't know if the PGA stats would give the particular golfer a top 30 finish or if he just simply get a nada.
What does everyone else think?

I don't think they would get any money if the DQ'd or WD, would they? I seriously doubt they would. Obviously this rarely comes into play because we don't have fields lower then 50 very often.

I would vote that when Spieth, Rahm, Bradley & Reavie WD/DQ, their points should not be awarded (for 30th)

It looks like not many are chiming in yet. Unless we have a serious change of opinion between now and the beginning of the Tour Championship we will go how we probably should go and that is that a player that withdraws or gets disqualified will NOT be eligible for any fantasy points regardless of size of field.

Same as any other tourney, wd is no money, why should it change now

I still think the points for the last 4 tourneys should be doubled,it would bring way more excitement to the end of the year in my opinion, it probably wouldn't change the outcome very often but it would give the bottom feeders a reason to continue putting their lineups in and it may very well give 6-7 teams a chance in the final tournament

Same as any other tourney, wd is no money, why should it change now The diifference is, a w/d in this tourney would be 30th place? (Worth pts, as top 50 places "pay" in pts) In any other tourney, a w/d would fall out of the top 50 pts category, or no pts. I think that's what the mild dilemma, is.

If we put too much stock in the year end run for the Fed Ex Cup then we minimize the importance of the 4 majors and the Players as well as the small tourneys that make up most of the fantasy golf season. It would also hurt some of the foreign golfers that don't participate in the Fed Ex Cup that would participate in a Major. Until the Fed Ex Cup winner is considered a bigger deal then the Masters Champ I don't think we need to give these tourney's that are not majors anymore worth then they already have which is actually quite a bit. When I put together the tiered scoring system I did so with the thought that all tourneys should be valued appropriately. If we double the scoring on the last 4 tourneys those tourneys would then be worth more fantasy points then a major would be, and I think most agree that would probably not be the right thing.

Although I am opposed to doubling all points for the playoffs I would be open to counting the Tour Championship as a tier 1 event. It is difficult to get into it and usually the winner will win the Fed Ex Cup. I do think the playoffs are becoming a bigger deal every year and I wouldn't mind rewarding the top 30 golfers with a few extra points in that last event. I am going to do some looking when I get a chance just how many points are on the line for certain events throughout the year.

Well I try to look at what makes a league exciting and successful,I could really care less about what the masters or the open are worth, adding points to the last 4 tourneys like they do for the FedEx adds excitement to the finish as very few will be mathematically eliminated like they are now,The masters and the other majors will always be exciting no matter what our little pool decides to do with the points.
