Royal Birkdale doesn't seem quite as bad as the normal British Open course as maybe they have camera's make it look better/greener then it is. I actually saw trees although kind of squirley ones on one of the tee offs. That is amazing as I didn't think trees grew in Europe J/K . One thing that is very annoying is that they seem to do absolutely nothing to spruce up the area where the patrons enter the golf course. They had trampled down brown grass that the people were walking on to get into the course. Then they had some kind of a wierd rope maze that the people had to walk through to get into the tourney. Like a back and forth metal bar contraption that people would wait in to get onto a roller coaster at Valley Fair or another theme park. There was just nothing that they seemed to do to make things more pleasing on the eye. I guess can you blame them for just letting things go considering that it is constantly raining and the wind is about 180 MPH most of the time. You would think with all the rain they get over there that it would be greener then it is. Maybe the Donald can make some kind of a deal with the UK to ship them over some real grass in exchange for some kind of a money laundering thing to help him cover up his finances.
So right now myself and Sea Island Mafia are both sitting pretty good with the golfers that will be left to play on the weekend and their positioning on the leader board. What happens on the weekend could determine if Rich really puts the pressure on or if some breathing room will be opened up. The way things have gone we will probably finish rather even in points this tourney. Maybe that will allow Enough Pars to sneak in there a little closer. Last year at this time both my team and Rich's both got hot and rose in the standings. I actually caught Rich on the last tourney for 4th place so I am sure he would love nothing more then to return the favor and win it all in the last week. Both of our streaks were a sign of things to come this year even though last year really doesn't have to do with this year. We are probably looking at a 3 team race in the standings unless another team really does something special down the stretch. I do have an advantage over Rich in flexibility down the stretch with cap money and with having a full roster and I hope that pays off. I think both of our teams are well positioned once the Fed Ex Cup playoffs start.
