It's painful to be forced to watch them stumble around the course and occassionally hit a good shot. Pebble Beach is too good for this. I have a couple of suggestions. First have a different channel that only shows the celebrities maybe the Entertainment Network and let CBS only show the pros. Let the viewers decide who they watch. My second suggestion is to move the Pro Am to the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio on one of the worse courses and worst tourneys of the year. That way I could just take the week off from watching golf altogether. Knowing me I would probably still watch it cause this fantasy golf thing is addicting.
On a side note Nick Watney is actually turning into a pretty good golfer again. I wanted him this year for sentimental reasons but he is actually somewhat worthwhile. More than can be said for Bradley or Mahan.

Watney is really turning his game around. Sort of saw the signs at the end of last year. I really wanted him this year. The celebs are just impossible to watch. I just fast fw DVR it.

Agree, nice to see Watney come around.
Celebs don't bother me too much, I guess? **shrugs**
I do find it fascinating, that some of these celebs have golfed for YEARS, and have such a poor grip/stance/set-up. Kinda baffling. Some of these CEO types are playas.

Eric...you are right on the money with this one. You watch because the course is a true gift to the golf world...but that was utter cap watching country music stars and Ray Romano and the rest. Only celeb who can stay is that surfer dude leading the damn thing with Siem... ( told ya, Ryan)....that guy looks like he could truly change sports. But having Kostis...analyze dozen celeb swings??? I didn't even SEE Wayne today...but I saw Larry the Cable guy's armpits many times. Eric...great idea...Valero and John Deere are the two crappiest.. events on tour. However...Valero besides the event being awful, that course looks like Smokey the Bear got there too late, then pissed on the whole course to put the flames out. Let a bunch of Texas dumbass celebs do the Pro-Am there instead...maybe they will get drunk then shoot each other, and thus no more Valero Open. ;p

When I remember watching the Texas Open I saw the golfers walking down dirt paths to get from one tee box to another which is just inexusable. I completely agree that it looks like the brush there was burned and put out like a forest fire ravaged the whole course. It seems like Larry the Cable guy and those country singers would fit in perfect there. How many swings do they really need to analyse. Do we really need to know or care about a celebrities swing. They really all look the same anyway. Who cares if an elbow maybe bent a little differently or a knee might not be bent enough on takeaway. It seems like Bill Murray is a little less annoying in his older years. He used to be way over the top annoying at this event. Maybe they made him tame it down a bit, or alot. I will admit that some of the celebrities have pretty good games and were hitting shots as good or better than the pros alot of time. It doesn't really matter to me though. If they want to golf with the pros practive up, get on the web.com tour and work their way up. What I hate is when they are analysing those swings or setting up the interviews on the 17th fairway with Nance and Faldo but yet totally ignoring important shots that are being played by the pros. I bet Nance just hates having to do this tournament. He seems like a no nonsense guy. The positive is that this only happens once a year.
Speaking of tournaments whatever happened to the Sprint International at Castle Pines in Colorado. They used to have that stop on tour and used the stableford scoring system for the only time on tour. It was kind of a cool format. It allowed players to make up a ton of ground in short time by being aggressive. They could definately get rid of a few of those lame tourneys to bring this one back. Even if it wasn't always in Colorado that would be fine although I do like it there. I think one positive change that the PGA tour made was moving the match play event to May just before the Players Championship. It took one stop away from the west coast swing which is too long the way it is anyway. In May it allows players games to be in mid season form and is a very nice 2 week span paired with the Players.
I am lucky to have most of my roster playing at Riviera next week. With that said I can't wait until the Honda Classic in Florida.

I agree with you there as well, Eric...Once they move to Florida...that usually to me makes me think things are now in full swing. I have actually been fortunate mainly for Day playing...and the Keuka play as well...I usually have limited rosters on the West Coast swing...usually do nor heat up until Florida. I had forgotten all about that event until you just mentioned it...that was cool...plus there SHOULD be more events elsewhere...Colorado is beautiful and has some great courses. Valero...who would miss that?

I don't mind it too much on Saturday. I'm glad they limit the bulk of that on Sunday. I still wish they would tone it down a little. Seems like the same junk each year.
Some of those CEO's are definitely fudging their handicaps though. Way too many par net birdie and birdie net pars for a 6 or 8 handicap on that course. That place is hard!
I'm not sure there is a more beautiful place on earth though. Amazing!!!
On a side note, did anybody hear them apologize for the language on 12? Not sure if it was Nantz or Faldo that mumbled JESUS. LOL I think it was Nantz because the Faldo cleared his throat like.........dude the mic is on.
