Of course it is early, and I am one who often warns about certain players doing well in the Hawaii/Cali swing only to have their pictures on milk cartons by April, even. HOWEVER..there a% a couple guys who have raised my eyebrows already, whom it will be interesting to see if they maintain things throughout the year.
One is Keegan Bradley. Eric, you must personally enjoy this, as at least for now looking like his old self, again. He still has many fans, and maybe he has let himself not be so tense, and placing TOO much pressure on himself. The talent never left...maybe he is on his way back to being a Top 50 player again.
A second guy for me, is Hadwin. He was a guy last year whom I was quite disappointed in overall, for all the potential and hype discussed. With all the disused about who and when will we have the next strong Canadian player making waves...well, maybe Hadwin is the guy to follow the next decade or two. We have been waiting for DeLaet to even win a tourney for so long...and although like many, I LIKE the guy, I think he is missing something between the ears. Nick Taylor is someone whom I do not think he has enough talent -- not a bad player-- but not a real good one either. Hadwin and his play have certainly reached a higher level, and it be interesting to see if not only can he get a win on tour , but even compete at a high level in the bigger tourneys, including qualifying for majors, and then doing well...and also do well in the Canadian Open. This is the guy for Canadians to get excited about and back... he looks to have the fiber and mettle that DeLaet lacks.

I like Hadwin and hope he continues to do well. I just can't put any faith in Bradley until he can show for a least a couple of months that he has his game together. For him it will always come down to his putting. I went from paying 70 something for him to paying 20 something to now getting him in about the 10th round. Anything he gives me this year will be a bonus, not expected. I guess you could call that not having the pressure on.

DeLaet just kicked Hadwin's ass! Hadwin always has had moments...but his short game lets him down...even when he gets a lot of birdies in a tourney. He has been frustrating --- a guy with talent like he has should have a victory or two...if not more in his career. Hadwin has been very good this year...when he did virtually zip last year...that has been my point. DEleat finally showed a pulse in a tourney...that is nice, we have seen this before. ..maybe he can stay awhile instead of disappearing. I remember not so long ago he was a Top 40 player...where is he ranked now? If you are going to nudge my dear bro...be prepared for a true debate. But, you know how critical I am for true validation...I think Justin Thomas is the real deal...but he hasnt proven much yet...not at least how some make it out to be. Yes, it was impressive how he played in Hawaii...but we all know the Hawaii tourneys are basically Putt-Putt courses as far as how challenging they are. When Justin does things at real courses and tourneys, THEN we can mention him amongst the other elite gùys who havedone such...like his "buddy" Jordan. So..I havent even given a grade yet for Hadwin...but as I said... he was virtually invisible all year last year. At least he has been very good starting this year. As with ANY player...West Coast success doesnt do much for me if by Masters they already have peaked and gone...so we will see.

I don't think you can necessarily group someone as a west coast guy any more then you can group someone as a Florida guy or Midwest guy. Jimmy Walker was kind of that guy for awhile and then he won a major. Maybe we can now consider Matsuyama a west coast guy as well. In a couple of weeks he will be disappearing as well. ;-)

HIs first victory here on tour...was at the Memorial...in Ohio. WON A wGC event elsewhere...and just from last year: T7 - Masters T7 - Players T4 - PGA T3 - Wyndham Just a few...plus that long string of Top 25 he had last year... he plays well everywhere...but I know you are just kidding. Plus, dont mention Walker...that hurt. He had a poor year...until he pulled that out of his ass. That par save...otherwise it would have been playof...and Day would have defended his PGA title....sighhhhhh.

That is all Matsuyama has done by age 24? What a loser. Who would bid over 100 for that? haha
