Power Rankings for the week
1) Hideki Matsuyama - with his win in Phoenix his stock is higher than ever
2) Jordan Spieth - unless he gets run over by a train he should be ranked #1 most weeks
3) Charl Schwartzel - not buying this ranking. He needs a longer trend of good golf after playing horrible for a couple of years, move down 30 spots
4) Jimmy Walker - Good west coast player and this is his last chance for a win during the platinum portion of his season
5) Justin Rose - good and consistant, deserving of this ranking at worst
6) Bubba Watson - always a threat anytime he tees it up. Winner 2 years ago. Gotta say he should be at least this high
7) Rory McIlroy - Debuts in the U.S. He should be bumped up even higher
8) Sergio Garcia - I may drop down just a tad but he offers his fantasy owner a solid presence.
9) J.B. Holmes - great field this week but it's tough to move him down too much
10) Dustin Johnson - wow with this field whoever wins will surely earn it, move up a bit
11) Freddie Jacobson - rolling so far this year but these are some big names he is being ranked with
12) Bill Haas - won here before and is almost never ranked way above where he should be
13) Harris English - will he finally get it together, until he proves it for a bit longer I can't agree with him being ranked
14) Paul Casey - he hasn't been noticed much lately and he already has a history of disappearing for long stages of his career
15) James Hahn - if he wasn't defending champ he likely wouldn't be ranked at all
Notables
Chris Kirk - can always make a run at the top
Matt Kuchar - Bolton losing love for the Kooch, he should be ahead of Schwartzel, Jacobson, English, Casey and Hahn
Danny Lee - he has come along way in a year
Adam Scott - he has become forgettable rather quickly
Justin Thomas - honestly since December it seems like he isn't even on tour by either not playing or not contending
My top 5
1) Jordan Spieth
2) Rory McIlroy
3) Bubba Watson
4) Justin Rose
