After a couple of weeks off I am back at it this week.
Rankings
1) Jordan Spieth - anyone that doesn't have Jordan #1 should have their head examined, LOL
2) Rickie Fowler - hard to argue with this ranking. After winning the Scottish Open he is primed for a big week
3) Dustin Johnson - Bolton is on his game, at least he doesn't have Web Simpson #1 this week
4) Henrik Stenson - Rob continues good picks so far - Stenson one of the top euro contenders
5) Hideki Matsuyama - I would have to drop him a few spots.
6) Adam Scott - Is he so fickle that he needs Steve Williams on his bag to succeed. Whatever floats your Boat Rob.
7) Brandt Snedeker - Not a terrible pick here but I gotta slide him down a few slots with this field
8) Paul Casey - Insert Euro, let play, hope for the best. Probably about right.
9) Phil Mickelson - can't agree with him being this high outside of Augusta. Might contend but I would bet on a much lower finish.
10) Matt Kuchar - not consistant enough lately and hasn't played enough either. Move down 10-20 spots
11) Sergio Garcia - well it is guaranteed that he won't win - where else he will finish who knows
12) Zach Johnson - feeling good about this pick here. Always solid in big events.
13) Francesco Molinari - only if Rob says so, but can't quite jump on his wagon for this high of a finish
14) Victor Dubuisson - getting it together lately but I don't see a long enough trend of good play to see him this high in a major
15) Jason Day - can he get through 4 rounds without collapsing. There is always some reason why he can't win a major.
16) Branden Grace - fairly solid pick at this point.
17) Charl Schwartzel - suddenly Rob likes him. Don't get this one.
18) Tommy Fleetwood - my first showing in the rankings but this may be a bit high for him
19) Shane Lowry - also seems to be forgetten about but his results are a bit better than that of a forgotten man
20) Louis Oosthuizen - non euro international contender for the Open. Can't disagree with this one.
Worth Mention
Ernie Els - always a contender in either the U.S. Open or British it seems
Nick Faldo - wouldn't it be something if he actually contended
Jim Furyk - was doing well this year and than stopped playing
Bill Haas - he could contend
Padraig Harrington - no matter the shape of his game always at threat at this tourney
Russell Henley - solid this year
Charley Hoffman - has been pretty clutch this year
J.B. Holmes - also doesn't seem like he has played much lately
Bill Horschel - Good for a couple weeks than disappears for 6 months. Maybe he will come out of his hole this week.
Brooks Koepka - in a year or two he may make the rankings on a weekly basis
Ben Martin - like his game
Justin Rose - how is he not being ranked, pretty much a travesty to miss on him Mr. Bolton
Patrick Reed - he is a week in and week out player that deserves mention at any tourney
Jimmy Walker - I wonder how his game translates to Saint Andrews?
Bubba Watson - It's amazing how forgotten he can be at a major outside Augusta. With how far he hits it he is not out of it.
Lee Westwood - I am affraid his window is just about closed to win a major. Sorry Lee but you are not winning one in your career like Colin.
Tiger Woods - is his game really improving or will the troubles that lurk at the old course become his undoing.
My Top 10
1) Jordan Spieth - it can be no other way
2) Dustin Johnson - I can see him winning in what would be one of the biggest major bounce backs ever
3) Justin Rose - Bolton you didn't do badly but you must have been on a wierd trip to leave him out
4) Rickie Fowler - Hot coming in and a big event player
5) Zach Johnson - He seems more built for Augusta National or maybe the Deere but this is actually an upset that I am picking him top 5
6) Bubba Watson - another Masters guy dwarfed into the British Open rankings
7) Henrik Stenson - Solid pick at any tourney and any course
8) Jason Day - despite one issue after another he still manages to contend
9) Louis Oosthuizen - I swear this guy is really a Euro, maybe he really is and only says he is from the irrelevant Southern Hemisphere
10) Paul Casey - Not jumping up and down about his chances but his game is back and he is a Euro so he better do well
