What is ruptured more, Rory's ankle or Matt's heart?

Jordan isn't sweeping shit.... pthth. He certainly isn't winning the British Open, and I don't think Wisconsin will be as kind to him, either for the PGA.

The odds are against any one particular player to win a major when putting that player against the field. Winning the slam is something Tiger and Jack could never do and with the amount of good players in the game at current Spieth winning the slam is certainly a long shot. I wouldn't say that Spieth "certainly isn't winning the British Open". There is not one player that would be favored over Jordan to win the British but obviously the entire field collectively would be favored over Jordan. Right now, this year Spieth is the best golfer in the world and if this year continues and bleeds into next year he will become #1 in the world overall. Spieth is made for big moments probably moreso than any other player including McIlroy. McIlroy is still the #1 player but his margin is now razor thin.

Good post, Eric.
If somehow Spieth wins the BO... I'll be among his biggest fans at the PGA.
You know what's pretty cool about Spieth? He's playing this week at the Deere. Certainly, paying a 'homage' to the folks that launched him.
That's pretty cool.

I like Jordan the person a lot other than he went to Texas. He does seem to "get it". I would be very surprised if he wins the Open, but he already surprised me at the US Open. When someone is as competitive and has a desire to win like he does you can't rule them out. Kid is special.

Yes, he is special...more so for his mindset and being an "old soul" than even his physical talent, in my opinion. That said, there always were a good handful of guys who were/are better choices to contend, that still is the case, and his staying to play the John Deere --- noble as that is, that gesture only cements his likely not being at the forefront of things next week. Not just him...NOBODY playing in Illinois this week is going to win the Open next week. The winner is someone already over there across the pond.

GJ6P,
Why do you think there are a handful of guys who are better choices to contend and/or win. Give me the names that you think are more likely to win the British than Spieth. His game translated to all types of courses. I don't know why someone playing at the John Deere can't win next week for any other reason other than there just aren't many good players playing at the Deere.

The reasoning is that those already there will be both acclimated to the time as well as used to the style of course there...whether playing practice rounds there or at the Scottish Open just 90 minutes away. Instead...anyone playing in Illinois, like Spieth, Stricker, Zachary Johnson, etc. Will be boarding planes late Sunday night...and since it will already be Monday morning there when they LEAVE here...they really will not be arriving there until late Monday...and thus really are first there to practice Tuesday...and their bodies on different time. True...Some are not bothered much...I never was bothered much by jet lag to Europe... Japan was just a touch...only coming back from Australia through me for a loop...but still. I doubt Spieth will be playing the John Deer much longer in his career, if it remains the week prior to the Open...it just is not conducive for his best for going into the third major each year. Many Euros I would rank ahead...and a few others here and abroad used to the style of course and also there fresh and acclimated to the time. This by far is the "World" Open...so there will be many styles...largest field... There just are too many factors that are not ideal for him, in my opinion. Hell...He has had a great season regardless how the rest of the year goes, and an amazing future...but next week I just do not see it being his week.

british-open-golf.betting-directory.com/odds.phpPredictably Jordan is the betting favorite to win the British at this time. Ironically an American Dustin Johnson is #2. Jordan has double the chance to win as any other particular golfer. These odds are made for a reason so no Euro is in a better position to win than Jordan. If the majority of the betters are from Europe than even they do not think any other player is more likely than him to win.

I don't care what sheep betters decide...hell, we know most sheeple on this planet are lucky enough to just be alive, and should not even be paid attention to...about anything....not just sports. There probably are still people placing money on Tiger, even though Don January long decayed in his grave would STILL be a better pick. I will use one example...Louis Oosthuizen. Now there is no guarantee for anything of course, but he would be a WISER choice, for various reasons. Dustin Johnson has had some success before...and St. Andrews is a venue where he can avoid some things more than other venues in the rotation. I don't think DO will win either...but I can see him contending more than Spieth...can see DJ doing well, even. By the way...I don't see Spieth doing POORLY...I just do not think he will be one of the main contenders come Sunday...or possibly even Saturday..that is all. But don't use betters...they are even more fickle sheep then the regular sheep. Spieth of course will get more bets than say...Wiesberger or Grace...even though there are strong reasons there are better chances for those two as well.

No one is a wiser choice than Spieth at this point no matter how much you want to spin it.
