how does the cut/sub thing work for this? I cant remember? Umm…you sub in anyone on your bench that made sweet 16, for a starter that didn’t make sweet 16. Duh. —- signed “big head” SIM. 😂 Adam Scott was your only guy to make 16 (mainly cuz he had Jordy Quief in his group) You’re set….but watch the Corales, lol.

Well how does the top 50 scoring work in this sgain?
I’ll put Reed 1-1-1 in for Spieth1-2 to I guess, not quite sure if I will gain points or not but wtf! I have enough capspace lol

It is difficult to explain but everyone still gets a place 1-64 in the standings of this tourney. the knockout stage participants get places 1-16 on the scoring system. Since there are many ties it will work just like in a stroke play tourney. Those who lose in the first round will all be tied for 9th and will take up 8 slots in the scoring system. Where it gets tricky is figure out the points for those that do not make the sweet 16. Those that scored zero points would be tied for 60th therefor would not score any fantasy points.
Here is how it worked this year. All the standings point for the top 16 are not considered especially since some sweet 16 participants had lower scores than those who did not make it.
Here is the graph I followed this year
0 points = places 60-64 and go zero points 0.5 points = places 58-59 and no points 1 point = 23 places 35-57 and got 9 points. Those 23 have to share the point from 35-50 in the standings. so those points are added up and divided by 23 1.5 points = places 26-34 2 points = places 18-25 2.5 points = place 17 and of course the sole player to score 2.5 points and not make it was Maverick McNealy because Kevin Na's stupid opponent missed a 7 foot put that would have knocked Na out. Instead Na beat McNealy in a playoff despite Maverick being generally the best player throughout the 3 day group stage from his group.

I have to say that the layout at the Austin Country Club is nice. There are some interesting holes especially #17 where the falloff cliff off to the left side of the green is classic.
With that said the cancer of the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio has spread. The brown dead grass has bled to Austin and it makes the course look horrible. It is too bad because if it could stay green it would be a really nice course.
