www.pgatour.com/tournaments/wells-fargo-championship/field.htmlThis seems to kind of be the forgotten about tier 2 event in our schedule. I would call the field pretty good but perhaps not awesome. Being that this is at Quail Hollow in Charlotte means to me that it is a very nice course that they are playing this tourney on. Starters (I don't know who to start and who not to anymore) Tony Finau Aaron Wise Kyle Stanley Russell Henley Wyndham Clark (why not) Alternate: Sungjai Im Bench Beau Hossler (the pine is exactly where you belong) Ollie Schniederjans (ditto from Beau, I mean Blow Hossler) Carlos Ortiz MacKenzie Hughes Scott Stallings Sam Burns

Off Course
Paul Casey Sergio Garcia Scott Brown Jason Kokrak Denny McCarthy
alt: Danny Lee
Bench: Hickok, Werenski.
This tournament used to have a great field. I'm assuming it's a tier 2 based on history. May take some time to figure out how to adjust with the new PGA schedule and how players will adjust their schedules.

It looks like some teams really had trouble filing out their rosters and others seem to have quite a few of their good players playing. This is probably the weakest of the Tier 2's that we currently have on our schedule. I know I brought up the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines as a potential new tier 2 so that might already be a good candidate to give this tourney the boot for next year. We are in need of front loading a few more points on our schedule so this could certainly do that especially with the likely loss of the Euro Event next year which was pretty much a disaster for our fantasy schedule. It's too bad that a few more elite players aren't playing because the course is really nice for this event. My suggestion for the PGA is to give the Valero the boot or at least move it to October or November or something. Move the Heritage the week before the Masters and this event the week after. Or maybe just have this event the week before the Masters and keep the Heritage the same. As far as I am concerned every event in June, July and August should be in the Northern states. April is the time that is perfect for Augusta, Charlotte, Harbour Town etc. I would actually move the Tour Championship away from East Lake in Atlanta (and I have nothing against that course) and put it on a more traditional course or rotate it between some of the traditional Northern Courses that might get consideration for a PGA Championship or U.S. Open.
