The bracket should be announced any minute now. Just some clarification on the rules for this tourney. Subs will be allowed prior to the start of the round of 16 on Saturday morning. This is a tier 2 event and we agree last year to have the scoring system be based on the scoring that is showing on the scoring system tab on the league file. It might not be exactly as is shown below depending on how things shake out this year but below is the graph of what it will be based off of. This is how last year ended up. The only thing that will change will be the point distribution to the golfers that do not make the round of 16 playoffs.
place........# of golfers.....position.......fantasy pts winner...............1...............1................260 runner up..........1...............2...............180 3rd...................1...............3...............150 4th...................1...............4................127 quarters............4.............5-8...............101 rd of 16.............8............9-16...............71 2.5 pts..............1..............17................57 2 pts................10..........18-27..............44 1.5 pts..............10.........28-37..............28 1 pts................13.........38-50...............11 0.5 pts..............10.........51-60................0 0 pts.................4..........61-64.................0

This course is pretty nice for being fairly close geographically to the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio. This course is obviously setup much better and looks a little greener. I would have to say the bridge that runs next to the course is probably the signature view of the course and tourney. I didn't notice that last year for some reason. My starters Jordan Spieth John Rahm Brendan Steele Martin Kaymer Tommy Fleetwood Alternate: K.T. Kim

Day Matsuyama Hatton Noren Wiesberger Alt: Fisher BENCH: Willett,Wang,Wood,Sullivan,Schwartzel, Luiten Wow, loaded lineup. Quality & Quantity. Should be your week, Josh... but ya never know. This is the tourney, I love to hate. Love my players... hate my draw... again. to whit: my two hottest players (Grillo & Woodland) are in McIlroy's (starting) group. << best player on the planet, coming off a solid outing. So two of my best players, occupy 1/2 the group of the game's best. to whit: my 'solid' Furyk, gets a first round draw of Matsuyama. Well, let's hope par wins a lot of holes, as Mats will 'out-birdie' Furyk on any course, any where. If Furyk wins, it's because Mats gets intimidated by Furyk thrown' darts 40 yards behind him in the fairway. Not likely. to whit: So howz about Papa Duf? Duf drew Reed... maybe USA's best match play, playa. Again, with the Mats/Furyk comparison. If Duf can throw darts 40 yds farther from the fairway... he might win. Well, how 'bout my other guy in the group, Koepka vs Kisner. << Kisner the guy po'd cuz pizzed away the last PGA tourney... and Koepka... my worst buy, ever. Kisner.... 6 and 5. Again, with two of my guys in the same group, with no shot. to whit: some good news. my stud Kuch opens vs Steele, and group-mates Fleetwood & Zach Johnson. If Kuch can't win that group (no offense to Steele, Fleetwood Mac, and Zach) I'm gettin' 0 pts, this week. Am I being a whiny beyotch? Did any one else get 2/3 of their field, battling their own (fantasy) teammates/... the remaining vs McIlroy/Matsuyama? What fantasy hell, posts that draw? Actually in yrs past, it's been worse (for me -- multiple teammates in the same group) edit: Okay, here's another way of expressing my lamentation. As with most years... I have 6 guys... to be spread amongst 16 groups of 4. 6 playas, amongst a field of 64. How the hell, do I have 4 playas, battling themselves, in round 1? (and this is one of my better draws, vs yrs past) Don't the odds say, I have a 9 in 10 (approx) chance, I have my 6 playas spread evenly over a group of 64? Aren't the odds greater... that I have my 6 guys spread out, over the field, with none paired vs one another, in the same group of 4? I'm sorry for bitchin'... but I knew this would happen.

Aaron really got screwed thos week....five guys say no, three of them being Stenson, Rose, and Fowler...that sucks.
WELL, Rich....this usua)y is the tourney that revs me up full throttle for the redt of the year. My rostets, due to the foreign makeup, as well as other factors never realy comes out blazing, but later on with the big tourneys during the "meat",of the season responds in form. This tourney and the format it really does emphasize the quantity aspect almost as much as quality. Quality always will decide in the end....but because of the very limited spaces to begin with...having numbers, along with where spaced can really help one command things.
I have really done well in this tourney for both reasons. Yes, Day has won this event two of the last four years...and another 3rd place finish in there as well...but it hasnt ben JUST him. The year he beat Dubuisson..I had both...thus I was guaranteed both all the points for both first AND second place. THAT is why one could kill in this tourney...you can control a lot of the points...especially later in this tourney....if the bracket part is arranged well for you.
This brings us to your emphasis and question, Eric. There are mixed feelings about having groups with multiple guys on your team. If say, a couple of your perceived stronger players we r in same group, that likely would be disappointing...but there ARE some positives:
1) You are guaranteed of having SOME player getting points. Since no ties...and even befo% when there was...you are going to at least have one guy gain points for you.
2) Better chance to advance from the group. Even with two guys...greater chance to advance. If you have three guys in a group, it would flat out SUCK, to not at least have a player advance from the group. When after the group stage...having two guys of yours meet, guarantees you have a guy move on.
This is where quantity really helps, too. Sure, still need guys to perform...but if at least some DO perform to SOME degree, it really can help a lot, depending on how the brackets are arranged.
If your main bigwigs can do well, along with a couple of your supporting guys...you can kill in this tourney. I am not really "expecting" most of my dozen guys to contend to win this tourney...maybe only two or three could be given a true chance for THAT. But there are but 64 guys in this thing...I have a fifth ofnthese guys to begin with. These guys are all highly ranked guys...so I DO expect that at least a couple others could at least win a match here and there, thus producing a bit, possibly moving on a couple rounds as well.
It is different than the normal stroke play events. That final day is a mammoth...final four guys endure 36 holes. This to me only has solidified Day's status as one of the top "grinders" in golf...two Championships, and a third. I think winning this tourney is a special feather in the cap...love it. It is a diffetent mindset, than the stroke play....good luck to all.
