Even if you performed an add and drop after a tourney started you can not use that golfer at all during that tourney. Regardless of the reason for an add that golfer cannot be used during a tourney from which he was added during. The reason for this rule is so that someone doesn't look at the Friday leader board and decide to add a golfer that might be near the top. This is so those that aren't able to check the leader board every day are not at a disadvantage with this type of transaction.

This is a clip from the 2016 Fantasy Golf Rules taken right from the word file.
Add/Drop Transactions: At any time during the week, including during tournaments, teams are allowed to add and drop golfers to their roster. There is no weekly or yearly limit to the number of player add/drop transactions each team is allowed to execute. During tournaments added golfers are not allowed to be on active status nor be allowed to be swapped into active status during the same tourney they were added to a roster. They will have to wait until the next tournament to be used. Each add/drop transaction is $2. Once a transaction is posted on the website the transaction becomes final and official at that time so be careful to make sure you are certain you want to make a transaction before posting it. For all dropped golfers there will be a 3 day waiting period before that golfer is able to be added to another roster including being added to the roster of the team that dropped them. In the 3 day waiting period if more than one team wants to add the golfer they will be awarded to the team with the lowest points in the standings of the week during which the golfer was dropped. The team that drops the golfer will automatically be placed at the end of the priority waiver order to avoid teams simply dropping a golfer knowing they will be able to pick up that golfer later. Once the golfer has been on waivers for 72 hours the time they will be able to be picked up is 11PM of that day.

Thank you for the clarification...obviously one would understand the prevention of the scenario you provided, but I had thought that if the player was added prior to their own teeing off,etc. No biggie...main thing is having him on roster...wouldn't be adding anyone for one tourney, and not even a top tier one at that.
