Not you, or more honest fans, perhaps...but the blowhard coverage guys earlier this year were still gushing about him. Day has won a WGC event...that is pretty darn big. Yes...what you say about Spier is what I said as well...His demeanor is what makes him special...and I agree with your sentiments there. It isn't just Rory and Jordan though in this race...and when it comes to listing whom the other main players are...well, you know whom I feel is right at the top of the list. There certainly are a handful of other main opponents...but as far as the whole packaged offered...hard to say any offer MORE. Anyway....I better do my lineup. At this point I don't see any other golfers in the same stratosphere as Spieth or McIlroy. I believe they are in a tier of their own. If Spieth continues on the pace that he is on I believe he may just create his own tier reserved for players like Nicklaus, Woods and Palmer. That is a long ways off and a few more majors away from even discussing but the thought certainly lingers. All the players right now below those two have some kind of a weakness in their game. It's generally either consistancy or ability to win majors. Bubba has a problem with consistancy and guys like Dustin Johnson and Day have an issue winning majors. There is not one player close to the level of the big 2 right now but that is just my opinion. What seperates McIlroy is his pure golf skills and ability to just dominate in stretches. He has 4 majors and a proven game that most of the time is tough to beat. Spieth has it all. He is consistant, plays well in big moments and most of all has an incredible golf brain and ability to play his best when others may get nervy. His decision making ability is superb as well. You will hardly ever see him make a big mistake on the course.

True assessments both for Rory and Jordan...I was speaking more the long term, myself. I certainly think that one can include Day and Fowler...then you have so many young guys with so much skill and talent like Matsuyama...and they are coming from all corners of the globe now. I mean...you had FOUR amateurs this past week hovering near the top of a major...guys like Ollie already are "stars" with a following even before turning pro now, where before it took a once in a blue moon type like Tiger to generate such notice. Rory and Jordan already are great...but they will not be alone.

We may agree to disagree but at least we are keeping the conversation interesting on the board.
