OMG!!! I turned it on last night after getting back from little league night at the high school game and I didn't realize Fox had this tournament. So, what do I see? The ugliest greens a person could look at and then Joe Buck, Curt Menefee and some other "football" guys with a sprinkle of Greg Norman and Corey Pavin. UUUGGHHHHHHH The US Open is my 2nd favorite behind the Masters. And, they are ruining it. Now I get a British Open with announcers that struggle to announce golf.
Oh, and I noticed the "clothing provided by the Greg Norman Collection" messages towards the end. LOL Wow. Not sure if it's really a conflict of interest but it certainly seems odd to have your color commentator have side deals to push his clothing line. What a train wreck so far.
Oh, and they also put a bunch of shading on the green to show the undulation etc. Which, is fine. Major humps on those greens. But, they left it on while he was putting.
Granted, I haven't watched a ton of coverage yet. I guess I'll have to give it a chance. It IS the US Open.

It was basically unwatchable. Between the broadcasting, the greens, and a lot of terrible golf in Tiger's group, I had to turn it off. At least we didn't have to put up with the train every 20 minutes. Holy cow dude, keep Tiger away from my top 2 guys. He ruined them both this week. lol

The one thing I will say about the coverage, they have minimized commercials and shown a lot of actual golf. That aspect is better.

Count me as one who hopes Fox never gets another golf tournament to cover. Maybe it's just me but I think it is brutal.

It seems like to me other than Norman the Fox commentators are a bunch of football guys trying to do golf.

It seems like to me other than Norman the Fox commentators are a bunch of football guys trying to do golf. I think you are exactly right. And Norman, to me, needs to stop routing openly for Jason Day. Corey Pavin is brutal to listen too as well. With the ugly greens, the crappy coverage and the fact it's on the west coast and the leaders teeing off at 5pm this has sort of ruined it for me. Doesn't help my golfers suck. LOL I don't remember Pebble Beach running this late but maybe it did?

What a finish to this tourney. The growing legacy of Spieth moves on. He may not be Tiger Woods and may not ever have his talent but things tend to play out in favor of Jordan in the big tourney's like they did for Woods. There is no way that if it's Greg Norman waiting in the clubhouse does a player 3 putt from 12 feet to hand him a title. Spieth on the other hand could be building something very special. Not only is he good but now it's fair to say that fortune is now on his side as well. I feel bad for DJ as he should have been no worse than in a playoff. One has to wonder if this has any lasting effects on Johnson. Now Spieth owns half a calender grand slam. The last two legs will by far be the toughest and with all the good players the odds are highly stacked against him but it's certainly interesting that he has now won the first two legs. Today certainly solidifies Spieth as being absolutely for real in the golf realm of super stars.

Wow, that was unbelievable, wasn't it?
That was a good last day... Rory coming back a bit...Sneds...Scott.... and Oostey with a record Open 9 holes, I think they said?
They showed the Gretzky clan when DJ walked up to 18 green, and they were giddy. Thankfully they didn't have a camera on 'em, after DJ's debacle. Would have been uncomfortable, lol. They did show Paulina and baby boy Johnson walking with DJ to the scorer's tent, so I guess she didn't leave him, lol.
Anyways, the back nine on Sunday was fun to watch, even tho I didn't have a dawg in the mix, and scored 0 points for the tourney. Ernie was my last hope at points.

I loved the finish but felt really guilty because I kept saying miss the putt on all 3. He seems to have a problem opening the putter and missing right. Anyway, keep it going Jordan!!

Honestly, watching Day the past two days...Most people would be in bed in the dark...I took care of my mom for a week when she had a bout with vertigo. I cannot imagine playing two rounds of golf, on that course, in a U.S.Open. God, I hope Jason can be 100 percent for the last two majors...and Fed Ex tourneys.
